Marriage: the end or a new beginning

She sat confused under the night sky thinking who was right? What was wrong? At the age of 24, she was getting proposals from many prospective grooms who were also of the marriageable age. She hadn't met anyone at all. She had just heard about them, a lot for that matter. No doubt she had her own say in this matter, a strong independent girl she was after all. Her parents heard her decisions and understood them instead of forcing their wish on her.
She loved writing, her passion, her life it was and second she loved doing the most was teaching. She was already pursuing M.Com and was a home tutor. While all her friends were in big metropolitan cities, away from home,  earning in thousands, without peace, she earned a little lesser than them but she was at home, at peace and happy. Her day passed by doing all the household chores in the morning, studying for sometime and then tuitions in the evening. She loved cooking as well.
That night, she was messed up, extremely confused if her marriage would be an end or a new beginning. She had to start training herself mentally, emotionally, physically to take the weight of marriage on her shoulders. 1/2 of her family wanted her to marry because they were aging and would say goodbye anytime. Next 1/4th wanted her to marry just because she was 24-25 and according to them it was "the right time" and the remaining of her family which had some handful number of people who would be in her support no matter what her decision would be. She wasn't against marriage but she didn't wish to marry at this particular time when things were all half done, settlement was no where near her. She wished to go to her new house completely not partly.
The whole night, she was just twisting and turning on the bed with millions of things on her mind. Main thing was her parent's security. Being the only child has its own perks at every step. When she was small, her parents did everything possible for her, in her childhood they took care of everything that they were supposed to in the best possible manner and now, now it was her turn to parent her aging parents like her own child with utmost love and care. She wanted the best for them before her departure. She wanted them to save as much as possible not for her but for themselves. Certain things she knew clearly about her next steps.
● She wouldn't be the only one spending on her marriage, he too would contribute. If she was marrying him, he too would be wedded to her so the expenses would be split amongst them.
● She would work after marriage for certain time.
● She would make some permanent arrangements for her parents to stay say a 1BHK at least which would belong to her parents alone.
● She always dreamt of a simple marriage and not a lavish wedding. A simple marriage where her most wanted people would be present with loads of happiness and laughs, they would all bless her. The food would be simple and no one would comment anything about it, be it on her face or behind her back.
● She would never stop keeping touch with her parents and close ones.
She was clear about where she wished to get married, away from South India. She was fine with even foreign countries but she didn't wish to settle down in the South Indian border at all. She had her own reasons for this.
The concept of marriage didn't facinate her much this time. Wearing saris all the time would be so uncomfortable she thought. Being loaded with loads and loads of jewellery like a mannequin she feared. She wished for an understanding husband who would take her side when she was right and would stand against her when she was wrong.
Marriage would certainly change many many things in her life but still she just wished her marriage would be a new beginning and not the end. Marriage brings new relations, new people, new bonds in one's life and accepting them wholeheartedly is much important than just accepting them. She stood on the crossroads of life where she was split between many things. She wished to accept the new person and his people wholeheartedly and not just half heartedly. She always wanted her decision to prevail over other forces.
As of now, her only decision was completely completing M.com, getting a job, standing on her own feet, totally independent and then watch who would accept her, because she knew some guys these days can't take it if the bride is much more educated than him. They can't stand the fact that she earns more than him. They're just making plans of pulling her down by every possible means. She didn't want such a life partner at all who would just pull her down at every step of her life instead she wanted someone who would have her back always no matter what the world has to say.
Thinking about everything, everyone, herself she slowly drifted off to sleep...

Save Amazonia

They're dying untimely death
The smoke covers the city during the broad day light
The innocent floara and fauna,
Have been screaming for help
It's weeks now, Amazonia is burning down

Don't you feel the burn in your lungs?
Don't you feel the heat?
Can't you hear the screams?
Can't you imagine the scenario?

The greens are burning down to ashes
The wind carrying a small flame
To the farther corner, leaving ashes behind
Amazonian Rainforests are falling down

God alone knows how many generations have been working on it
How many innocent lives the fire has claimed by now
The difference between the day and the night is forgotten
And how many unique species have been dead by now

Can you see the tears?
Can you understand the extent of loss?
The forests don't speak
The trees don't talk

Even if someone mistreats the plants in our garden,
We yell at them, shout at them
Now, whom should we yell at?
Now, whom should we blame?

At the thought of death rate,
My eyes moist and a chill goes down my spine
Kilometers away, the smoke is filling spaces
The fire, doesn't stop at all

The families of all those animals are birds,
Are dying down, or probably have been separated
God can only save them all
What can we do? You might ask me straight

We can sit here and pray
For the fire to die down soon
The destruction caused by cutting down of trees,
Is way too much to handle
Now, in a row, at a stretch all those tall trees stand burnt and uprooted

Oh Lord, save them all
Give us the strength to over come the huge destruction and loss
The images, photographs are extremely heart wrenching and devastating
Oh God, please save Amazonian Rainforests is all that I pray for

Revenge, karma and truth

If revenge can get them back
Then fine, let's fight
If Bharat Band can get them alive
Then let's go ahead
If by killing those terrorists the matyred could come back,
Then let's kill them all at once
If by posting pictures, they will smile back again
Then let's post even more
If rallies can put life into them,
Then I will join too I will walk miles
If blood could fill the dead bodies lying in the grave,
Then I will give my blood as well
If by chopping heads of those terrorist
The mass of flesh which lying on the roads,
Gets back its shape then let's do it

Nothing of such sort will happen is a truth we all know
Then why fight? Just let karma play it's toll

Marriage

Marriage
Is a connection of two souls and heart rather than two bodies. It's not the end it's the beginning instead. Beginning of everything. A new person, many new relationships and equal authority.
Searching for a groom, talking about the girl, regarding the girl, asking about the guy, his qualification in short interviewing him for the bride is a ritual in our society. Once the girl steps into her 23rd year, people start talking about her marriage about her future regarding which she shouldn't have any objections. Even today in some places of our country, a girl is married off to a complete stranger without even her consent. To release a pledged house or mortgaged ornaments or to free her parents from the burden of debt. She is married to the son of the person who has lent them money. Has anyone thought what she goes through? When asked they say 'It's the tradition to send girls away at any age no matter what.' or 'लड़की पराया धन होती है'
Age is just a number and marriage is just a legal name that binds two people without which the world outside calls it illicit and by chance, if she conceives without marrying then the child which is born suffers the most to the core. Inspite of having a name the child is called illicit. Isn't it beautiful how the same child, if born after marriage gets a proper name as well as a good house and before marriage is named as a mistake? Babies are the most beautiful creation of Almighty after woman. She's blessed with the strength to carry another life within her for 9 months and then bring it this world. They're never a mistake no matter when they're born.
Marriage is just a name that says the couple are legally binded to one another. It's as if without getting married if two people stay together, it's a crime.
Is it that necessary to give a relationship a name so that two people can survive in the society?
Is it that important for a girl to have a mangalsutra around her neck which says she's married and belongs to someone else? Why is that inspite of having a mangalsutra she's being teased or harassed or worst cases even raped?
At times a question lingers in my mind is this all a girl is born? Just to educate her (which in many cases isn't happening) and then marry her off so that she can have kids?
Is this all a girls' life?

Letter to my (future) baby #5

My dear baby,
Never depend on anyone for anything in your life. Life isn't easy but if you have right people by your side, things will fall into place. Never think that you'll be troubling me by sharing your problmes. Never that's gonna happen.
Know one thing, learn to respect yourselves first. If you don't respect yourself, no one else will respect you ever. Don't give too much of importance to anyone in your life. There is a limit to give importance, to things and to keep quiet. Baby, it doesn't mean you should be intolerant. It just means know the difference between right amd wrong. Learn to differentiate between truth and false. Never trust easily and never doubt without evidence. Remember, sometimes even evidence may be false.
I want you to fly high in the sky with immense colors. Not everyone deserves your time and not everyone is worth your importance. Those who are, they'll make place for themselves without you knowing it. Any problem, anytime, mumma is there for you baby..

Love
Mumma

Letter to my (future) baby #4

My dear baby,
At times i just wanna hug you tight and never let you go. I miss you more than anyone sometimes. Baby, it's not just about giving birth to you it's all about nurturing you, taking care of you, teaching mannerisms etc.
People may tell you hundreds of things about you, your behavior, your every damn movement but baby remember do what you feel is right. Take suggestions but decide what your heart says. Mumma will always be there with you when you take right decisions and mumma's there when you go wrong to help you come back to the correct track. It's people's work to speak against one another you don't have to bother because we don't stop nor we change paths when stray dogs bark.
Mumma will always be there when you need me

Love
Mumma

Letter to my (future) baby #3

My dear baby,

Mumma may scold you without reason sometimes i will try my level best not to but still if at all i do, then please forgive me. Mumma is no God baby that she won't make mistakes she will but it's only a mistake not a crime. Mumma may not be there at times when you need her but it doesn't mean mumma doesn't love you. Mumma loves you a lot no matter what. Mumma may lose her patience that time you should be patient with mumma instead of yelling at me just try to calm me down. Mumma is a human just like you. Yes they say mother is God on earth but I want you to know one thing straight that I am not God. I am just a human, your Mom that's all. It doesn't mean you can disrespect me. If you want respect learn to give and then you'll be able to take respect back.
Without respecting someone don't expect them to respect you at any cost baby. You're free to choose what you want but not at the cost of walking on wrong paths. Mumma will be there but incase she isn't there  with you physically, dont panic mumma is always there with you and for you. Make friends who'll be there with you at your best and worst. Make few friends who'll be there always rather than having thousands of friends on social media make less friends outside the media world who'll promise you their company and togetherness always.
You'll meet different kinds of people at different stage of life but make sure amongst them you'll have  one or some constants. Make sure to have atleast one person with whom you can share all your secrets. Life is short they say but it a depends on how you take your life, to which edge you're leading it. Baby, I may not be very much experienced with life for i have much more to see whatever I have seen is nothing is permanent neither people nor problems nor life. Everything stays for a particular time period.
You may be feeling it's easy to lecture but no I am saying all this because I have seen everything. I would like to be your friend first and mother next. May be the seed if friendship which didn't penetrate in my life will become tree in your life.
Don't hesitate to come and share stuffs anytime. Mumm is always there for you no matter what time the clock shows.
Mumma loves you baby...

Love
Mumma
